Psychotherapist, Supervisor & Trainer
Victoria Smith
I am a registered and accredited counsellor and psychotherapist with 30 years of experience working with individuals and groups, both in private practice and within organisations. My approach is warm, integrative, and deeply rooted in creating a safe, confidential space where clients can explore what therapy means for them.
I believe psychotherapy is both an art and a science—an ever-evolving process that draws on knowledge, creativity, and personal experience. My work is informed by Psychodynamic and Transpersonal theories, as well as PIT Training, CAT, CBT, TA, and 12-Step philosophy. I tailor my approach to each client, ensuring therapy aligns with their unique needs and goals.
At the heart of my practice is the therapeutic relationship itself. While I provide education in certain areas, my focus is on deepening self-understanding rather than offering advice. My aim is to support clients in gaining insight into their thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, helping them navigate the challenges that brought them to therapy.
I am constantly in awe of the resilience of the human spirit—the ability to heal, grow, and find meaning even in the most difficult of circumstances.
“There is only one corner of the universe that you can be certain of improving and that is your own self”
— Aldous Huxley
